What sizes are your shoes available in?
What are your shoes made of? Dr. Comfort uses full grain leather uppers on most of the styles in our collection. The Annie, Brian, Douglas and Betty styles are made from Lycra, a breathable, stretchable material. The Lily, Justin Chestnut, Merry Jane Blue, Merry Jane Tan, LuLu Blue, Kristin Tan, and Kristin Blue styles are made from nubuck, a buffed leather similar to suede. We feature full leather linings in all of our shoes, with the exception of our athletic line which utilizes a cotton lining. Do all your shoes fit the same? Yes and No. Dr. Comfort uses one type of construction for all men¡¦s shoes and two types, Euro and Standard, for ladies shoes. The material used and design of the shoe may affect the way our shoes fit your feet. What is the difference between Euro and Standard constructed shoes? Our Euro construction is narrower and more tapered in the toe box while our Standard construction has a generally more rounded feel. Which styles are Euro Construction? The styles featuring the Euro construction are: Betsy, Betty, Kristin, Lilly, Lulu, Move Spirit, Spirit Plus, Walk, Victory, and Victory Plus. All other styles feature our Standard Construction. How do I minimize heel slippage? The best way to minimize heel slippage is to order a lace shoe. There are different lacing techniques which can help reduce heel slippage. If Velcro closure is your only option, we suggest placing a tongue pad, available at no charge, under the tongue of the shoe to help reduce heel slippage. Dr. Comfort does not recommend the use of heel grippers, especially with diabetic patients. Are your shoes or boots OSHA/ANSI certified? Dr. Comfort shoes do not have certification from either OSHA or ANSI. How much do your shoes weigh? Our shoes range in weight from 1.4 lbs. ¡V 2.5 lbs per pair with inserts. Please see the individual style page for shoe weights. What types of inserts do you sell? Dr. Comfort currently sells 3 types of inserts: Our gel insert is recommended for pure comfort of non-diabetic patients. If you are treating a diabetic, Dr. Comfort suggests either a standard heat-moldable or custom made insert based on medical necessity, both of which qualify for reimbursement under Medicare. What are your inserts made of? Dr. Comfort¡¦s new gel insert is made of a proprietary base material with gel in the heel and metatarsal area, middle layer of p-cell, and a leather-like top cover. Our Medicare reviewed heat moldable inserts are made according to A5512 specifications using an EVA base and P-Cell cover. Who do you use for your shipping? Dr. Comfort uses UPS for all of its domestic and international shipping needs. USPS service is available upon request. Do Dr. Comfort shoes automatically come with inserts? No, Dr. Comfort shoes come without an insert unless specifically requested when ordering. The only exception to this rule occurs when an order form arrives with no mark in the insert area. In this case, three pairs of heat moldable inserts are automatically included and package pricing is applied. These inserts may be returned for full credit if not required for the patient, provided they have not been heat molded. How long does it take to process and ship orders? Typically, all orders for shoes and heat moldable inserts are processed within 24 business hours and ship within 48 business hours.
